There are times in life when things happen that we can’t make sense of and we ask why.  Often we never get the answer we are looking for and yet, we find God’s presence in huge ways.  That is what I am asking Church at the Bay to do this week- be the hands and feet of Jesus- to a hurting couple and their family.  Here is their story.

On April 29th a mom attended Church at the Bay for the first time with a heavy heart- her baby boy (5 months old) was on life support.  She asked me to pray with her and so we prayed.  A few days later the little boy died and we did not know.  But, yesterday, I got a phone call asking if I would do the funeral.  Today Sandy and I went over and met with Mom and Dad and tried to offer the comfort that only Jesus can give.  This couple is devastated as you might guess.  When I looked around I knew they needed our help and so I offered several things and they said yes!  Here is where you come in Church- this is what we need to do.  You do not need to do everything but you MUST do something.

UPDATE: As of 9:42 pm Tuesday- we have the meals and cleaning covered.  Let me know if you can attend the funeral… You all are great.

  • We need supper for Wednesday through Sunday for 2 adults.  If you can help by providing a meal please email me and I will put you in contact with our coordinator.   ( )
  • We need some families to come to the funeral on Saturday morning at 11am at a local funeral home Blount & Curry Funeral Home – Carrollwood Chapel 3207 West Bearss Avenue Tampa, FL 33618.  Please email me and let me know if you can attend.  I would love for them to have the support of our presence.  When you come tell them you are from Church at the Bay and that you love them, are praying for them and that Jesus loves them.
