- What went well?
- Where did we get stuck?
- What should we do different?
We are tweaking in big ways again this weekend- therefore CATB 2.1!
The truth is anytime you stretch in big and new ways; different strengths and weaknesses get exposed. The strengths and weaknesses usually center on people and processes. That is exactly what we saw happen this past week at The Bay. As we debriefed with the question, “what volunteers took it to a whole nuther level over the past week”, I loved the responses. Every one of our pastors experienced new levels of commitment and skills in the volunteers they lead. I believe that if we stretch far enough we can create open space- this in turn creates a vacuum of leadership and leaders always step in to vacuums. This is the principle I call- Leadership Emerging. Often we appoint or choose leaders that may not make it. I want leaders with a servant heart that see the need and step up and meet it. When that occurs we help them become servant-leaders. Too often when we organize things we organize the opportunity for leaders to emerge right out of the process.
All that to say strengths and weaknesses were addressed this week and Church at the Bay is positioned for God to use us in BIG ways! What privilege to charge HELL with the pastors and folks of Church at the Bay! Go God!
