This weekend we threw out the challenge to talk about our faith. Although our faith is very personal it was never intended to be kept private. If you want to measure the effectiveness of a church (or a Christian), I believe it begins with impact! Are lives being impacted with the Gospel and being changed? This passage makes clear the task of every Christ-Follower
And God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:18-21
We have the privilege and responsibility to introduce people to Jesus Christ. So … who are you talking to, praying for, serving and introducing to Jesus Christ? Living as an ambassador is the greatest opportunity in the world- let’s leverage our opportunities for Jesus! I am still grateful for Doug sharing his faith with me. I didn’t respond positively and I have never forgotten him. God used Doug to begin my journey to trusting Christ as my savior. I want to life my life in such a way that I will be a “Doug” in someone else’s life.
