Why do I ask? Glad you asked… Sandy and were discussing our plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas last night. We try to invite an individual or family to Thanksgiving Day who does not have family in town. It doesn’t always work, but we keep our eyes open. This Christmas though, we have a great plan. We have a single mom with several kids staying with us that week (from out of town). This lady has made many poor choices but in the last year or so has come hard back to God. The 3 kids are young and we plan to make this year about them- it should be a ball. Honestly- we will probably enjoy it more than they will.
This season why not make a plan to change your focus:

Help a family in need

Invite someone over to the family feast

Buy a gift for a child through Angel Tree

So what plans are you making? Why not make an impact for the Kingdom?

.

Most of the time Church at the Bay does teaching series that will last from 4 to 8 weeks. We are presently in The Marriage Puzzle because we know marriage is or will be a part of just about everyone’s life. In fact, statistics tell us that our marriages need God’s help and direction in a huge way. So, many of our series are often directed at a felt need. We also do series that help us with Godly Habits- such as prayer, Bible study, sharing your faith and finances just to name a few. We believe the Bible has the answer for the issues of life. Sometimes we do Biblical Character studies. We select a character in the Bible and study his/her strengths and weaknesses as they followed God. Then we consider the principles that apply to our lives. There will be ocassions when we will do a series that you may think, “This doesn’t apply to me”. I challenge you to engage and see what God does. Our goal is to look to the scripture and apply it to life – rather than look to life and apply it to scripture.
