Mutiny week 3- Download

It was another weekend for “Mutiny: Got a little captain in you”. Here is a quick Monday Morning review:

  • We had pirates everywhere!
  • We had a 3 year old pirate do our welcome! No joke- the video is posted at the bottom
  • We are experiencing some momentum around The Bay- attendance is up a little over 15% from last year.
  • We had 2 people indicate they committed their life to Christ this weekend- for the 1st time
  • By the way there are two different ways to catch the weekend if you missed- audio you can listen to on the web, download to your computer or subscribe in Itunes- for audio only click here.
  • We have also added (last week) video of the message. We will tweak and make it a vodcast in the future as well. But go here for video (it is a work in progress).
  • Next week we finish up our Mutiny series with: Ye Old Pity PaRRRRRty.
  • We will also be taking Father’s Day up a notch. After doing the Spa on Mothers Day- we asked- what would work for Father’s Day- simple answer- a Tailgate party!
  • So before and after each service we are grilling up Brats and serving Cold Beer! Does it get any better? Make sure you read the small print.

(small print- the beer is Root Beer).

  • BTW- the Brats and beer will be shared with everyone- not just Dad’s!
  • Finally, many of you know about the tragic death of Marquis Cooper in the boating accident. We will be celebrating his life in a memorial service this Saturday at 3pm. Here is the 411

Monday Morning Download

I had a great weekend and no Monday Morning Preachers hangover! Maybe it was because I didn’t speak this weekend! I got to watch everywhere. I am so impressed with what God is doing at The Bay. Here is some basics:

  • We were thrown a curve ball on set-up and tear down. We will have to do a partial each week. When the pastors got the word- they said straight ahead. Our volunteers said the same. That attitude is spot on- thanks for modeling. So we have a partial set-up now on Thursday nights and partial tear down on Sunday’s.
  • We hope to start putting up the video of most weekend teaching. I will link to it when it happens.
  • I love walking from the gym to the curb and seeing 2 water stations, The cafe and at least 9 people catching people walking in. It really warms up the place.
  • Our band is expanding and getting better! I need to play again soon before they decide I am unworthy to sit in on the drum kit (it may already be too late).
  • The pirate greeting was soooooo cheezy! And it worked! Arrgh you ready for next week? The cheezy video is posted below.
  • My son Hal 4 spoke. I told him it was the best yet! It is one of the highlights of my life to see my kids loving and following God. Sandy and I are so blessed.
  • Our students raised over $1000 with the 30 hour famine. Way to lead guys.
  • We had nearly 30 at our monthly guest reception. We have tried a lot of connection plans- this one seems to be working. Its probably the high quality food- Papa John’s Pizza
  • Oh yeah- Partnership Class is this Sunday at 12:15. Email Don@churchatthebay.com with questions or reservations.

I had (and still have) a good friend, Gary Lamb, who hit the skids this last month. He resigned from his church yesterday because of moral failure. God’s grace is big enough and we are praying for everyone involved. I will make a post tomorrow and talk about key learning’s for all of us and how to pray for Revolution Church, Gary’s family and the other woman and her family. There are a lot of innocent bystanders affected in this . You can read his resignation post here.
