I hope you had a great 4th of July. I am so grateful to God that He allowed me to be born in the United States of America. Our country has been generous to the world, especially when disasters hit and our churches have sent missionaries around the world. The freedom we experience has come at a huge price- I pray we don’t squander what God has given us.
I am always careful not to mix patriotism (loving our country) with faith (loving Jesus). It is true that our nation was founded on a Biblical judicial system and has been blessed of God. Yet, our country is far from God! As I look at the news and I see what we value, support and defend as a nation- I am wounded in my spirit and I cry out to God for justice. I hope you join me in praying for our country.
So am I proud to be an American- you bet! Do I want to see our leaders and citizens to come to God- yes! That is why we started Church at the Bay.
This Sunday I will be back as we continue our study of James- According to Jim. I hope to see you at Church at the Bay and by the way- there is a BIG announcement that you probably want to hear firsthand. I love a secret!!!! See you Sunday!
