Those fourteen words seem so simple and yet after 29 years of marriage I still find them very perplexing. The truth that God created man and woman in His image would seem to allude to similarities. This begs the question: Why are we so different? In our Marriage Puzzle Series, we will discuss what God intends for marriage to be like. The purpose of marriage is not to deny our differences or even try to remove our differences. God actually wants us to celebrate our differences. Marriage is a journey of discovering and revealing who we really are. We ALL know that dating is not really about revealing who we are. In fact, the key to getting my wife Sandy to say “yes” to my proposal was hiding my weaknesses and faults and putting on the best “me” I could. The problem is once we got married I was less and less interested in hiding. Sandy thought I changed- I actually quit hiding. In the beginning opposites attract but if we are not careful, soon after the marriage vows- opposites attack! Join the discussion this weekend about how to Celebrate your Differences!
